Theno's

This is my photo of the week...for last week. I am behind. Oops!
This photo is of Theno's Dairy. My first job, my second family, and my home away from home.

Anyways, Theno's had closed an my heart has shattered. I love this photo because it really captures how the employees who have poured their hearts felt about the closing. We sat there for quite a long time just remembering the great times.

Cat Grass.

Been growing some plants lately.
Or at least trying to. One in particular is not growing very well.
My cat grass....I wonder why.
...Nelson!

Photo of the week!

This long weekend has been crazy!
Went out backpacking to Shi Shi beach on the coast. I got back yesterday and I am still so incredibly sore, but it was SO worth it. Hooray!

Anyways here is my photo of the week for last week. Taken in Eastlake.
Its official I need a real big girl camera.

Photo of the week.

Until my life gets more interesting I am going to do a photo of the week so I don't have to bore you with thousands of worthless photos.

This week I have had way too many sweets so what is a better photo of the week than the most delicious sweet that I had this week.
Oreo milkshake from Luna Park Cafe!
I went there on a girl date with my love Megan from Diary of This Girl.

P.S. At Brave Horse Tavern this week I literally just ordered a beer and a chocolate chip cookie.

False Alarm.

This morning we were startled awake by the buildings fire alarm.
Sweet Nelson and I instantly made eye contact and he was terrified. I yelled at Dan to grab him while I ran and got his cat carrier upstairs. Eventually we made it down and out of the building where we sat for about 15 minutes until it was good to go back in the building. Apparently someone had pulled the fire alarm in the garage. Once we got back in the alarm kept randomly going off for the next two hours. So Nelson ran and hid in my closet and I followed him and sat with him for awhile.
We spent the rest of the afternoon cuddling and enjoying the sounds of silence.
So glad that my first instinct is to rescue this cute guy. Don't know what I would do without him.
Cat love!

Thrilled.

I am thrilled beyond belief.
The time has finally come that I will be reunited with my all time favorite sunglasses. The original pair I treated like gold for 2 years until they broke one summer on a roller coaster at Worlds of Fun in Kansas City. I've been hoarding $5 amazon gift-cards that I get here and there in hopes I would be able to find something fun.

Then today it happened I was looking for Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume and I saw my sunglasses! They were on sale, and with my gift-cards that I had saved up I only had to spend $15 on them. Hooray!
They are even in the color that I originally had them in.
I can already tell that this summer is going to be fantastic.

Purple.

I saw a post over at A Beautiful Mess and was instantly inspired, so I decided to dye one of my own "forgotten" dresses.

The dress.
This dress was the dress I wore under my white high school graduation gown in 2006.
It is a free people dress, and it still fits great. The only reason that I don't wear it anymore is some burns from ironing and some stains from food over the years.

The new color.
Purple! I love purple and always have, and I love almost every shade of purple.
I mixed it in my kitchen sink. It worked out really well and didn't stain the sink at all.

The dress turned out beautiful! I can't wait to wear it. What would you wear it with?

TGIF.

TGIF.
I mean seriously TGIF.

Mail!

One of the best things in life is opening up your mailbox and seeing an unexpected surprise.
Typically my mailbox is filled with coupons and junk mail but not today.

An actual letter from a faraway friend. I couldn't be happier. So much better than a online message. I even received a little tin of goodies along with the letter.
Growing up we use to draw houses just like this as a plan for our future lives.
I love that she found this card.
I love my goodies and unexpected surprises.
I think I will start sending fun things to all my faraway friends.
Such an fun way to stay connected.

Do you still use snail mail? What is the best unexpected thing that you received in the mail?

Black.

I am stuck. Every morning I end up wearing a black top of some sort.
Now that it is spring and the sun is finally coming out I need to add some color into my outfits.
Here is what I wore yesterday:
Black tank, black top, black bag, black scarf, and black headband.
Yikes! Please don't get me wrong I love wearing dark/neutral colors, but when it is spring I feel like some color is needed.

Do you ever get stuck wearing the same color over and over?

Cash.

I can't stop listening to Johnny Cash. It has been a few months of this obsession.

I love his cover of "Personal Jesus".

April

I can't believe another month has gone by.
This year is going by way too fast.
(Now if only my unpacking process would do the same.)

Here are my January new years resolutions:

1. Read more books. Now that I am out of school I can read the books that I never had time for. My goal is two a month.
2. Get outside more. Simple enough I just need to do it.
3. Eat healthier. More veggies. Less soda and junk.
4. Get active again. I need to find a fun way to stay in shape that wont drive me crazy.
5. Spend less money on small things. Spend more money on big things. (like trips!)

Here is my April progress report:
1. I read one, but its a long one! So it should count as two.
2. Its cold and rainy! I got out on the sunny days.
3. I have been eating waaay less junk, soda is a whole different topic. Luckily Trader Joe's is only 2 blocks away from me now!
4. I have been out walking around way more. There are so many fun things to walk to in my new neighborhood. I love it.
5. I still need to save up for a camera, but moving is expensive. Yikes.

Please ignore my excuses  for not getting some of these done :)
Is it summer yet? As much as I love this scarf I am getting tired of needing to wear it.

47-60

Okay, lets be honest for a little while. I could make excuses I could blame it on the move, but there is no one to blame for only have 5 photos of the day for 13 days. Worst part is that I have no idea what day I took them on. Oh well can only go up from here!

Photo of the day ???
This wall is right outside my office. PERFECT spot for future photoshoots.

Photo of the day ??
I made this photo as big as possible so you could see what awesomeness is just a block from my work. Yup, that is right a PSYCHIC BARBER. A two for one deal! Will someone please go here and let me tag along.

Photo of the day ????
I go to El Chupacabra on Alki so often that I have almost run out of things to take photos of. Here is a groovy lamp. I love the color! Dom and I can be considered "regulars" now. They know exactly what we order when we walk in.

Photo of the day ???
We finally got all of our stuff moved in and I received a call that there was a vintage formica table two blocks down hill from us. So instead of being intelligent I decided to walk, and luckily I have a trooper of a boyfriend/roomate and he tagged along with me. Once I decided that the table was the love of my life we realized we had to walk it up hill for 2 extremely long blocks. I am glad Dan was there to provide comic relief for this situation otherwise I would have been a cranky mess. At least it wasn't raining!

Photo of the day ??????
Just when you think there are no more photo opportunities at El Chupacabra life gives you one. Please note Dom in the background blocking the wind from popping my bubble.

Luna Park Cafe.

Today we walked a few blocks down to Luna Park Cafe.
History lesson time: Luna Park use to be a theme park out on the water on Alki so this cafe is based on the old park.

If you are in the area check it out! I'll be going back for a milkshake.

Exhausted.

Well we did it.
We have successfully moved.
We still have to clean out the old place but we just won't count that for now.
I was thrilled when we got the keys!
I had to make sure that the important things were well taken care of.
Nelson didn't let us get in the way of his relaxation.
So much unpacking still left to do! House tour will come eventually.

Bathroom.

Everyone has different products that they use
and I thought that I would share a few of my absolute favorites.

I got my Clarisonic for Christmas and my skin has drastically improved since then.
I try and use this bad boy most nights before bed.
I use it with this:
Such a great product to use with our without a Clarisonic.
The texture is freakishly smooth.

Clinique clarifying lotion is an addiction of mine.
I use it daily especially in the harsh winter months.
I have tried out so many different facial lotions and nothing has compared to this Kiehl's one. No matter how much I use my face never feels sticky and a little goes a long way. LOVE.
On bad weeks I use this mask from Origins. I always feel so fresh after I use it and my skin clears up really fast after I use it. Out of all of these this is the product that I have used the longest.
Last but not least floss picks. I am such a lazy flosser. I put a bag of these by my shower and floss while I am in the shower. I love hot showers and any excuse to stay in a little longer is fine by me. If you find that you tend to not floss enough you should try flossing in the shower.

What is your favorite product?

45-46

Photo of the day number 45.
Oh Dr. Pepper you are my one weakness.

Photo of the day number 46.
Ok I lied Modcloth is a weakness too.

Clock.

Lately I have been wanting to buy every awesome clock that I see.
It is just too bad that I don't need any more.
Maybe once I move I can find more spots for clocks!
My brother gave me this one for Christmas and I love it. It is the highlight of my nightstand.
This would be a super cute kitchen clock. I love it.
This one is just fun. All three of these are from Modcloth, and I want them all.
I especially love this bad boy.(From fredflare)  If I didn't think that it would terrify Nelson (and me) I would get it.

Do you love clocks like I do? Or do you hate them like Captain Hook?
