Damned.

I saw the cover of this book on Dan's bedside table and was instantly curious. Dan has a great taste in books (Mr.English Major) so I downloaded it and went for it. It was a good book, very gross, very graphic, but a fun read. I didn't feel the need to read and study every word so it was a very easy read.

The story follows a girl named Madison who has died and has found her self in Hell. She really proves that situations are what you make of them.

Resolution.

1. Read more books. Now that I am out of school I can read the books that I never had time for. My goal is two a month.
2. Get outside more. Simple enough I just need to do it.
3. Eat healthier. More veggies. Less soda and junk.
4. Get active again. I need to find a fun way to stay in shape that wont drive me crazy.
5. Spend less money on small things. Spend more money on big things. (like trips!)

Middlesex

After years of picking this book up and forgetting about it I finally finished it.
It is a must read for everyone. I can't believe that it took me this long!
I love that the majority of this book took place in Detroit.
Having been there once really helped me visualize the setting.

My trip to Detroit took place a few years ago. My Mom, Dad, and I went there to visit my brother.
This is a photo of Detroit's old train station. I can't even imagine how beautiful this building would have looked back when it was operating. When we were standing out front of this building taking photos a homeless man jumped out of the bush next to me, and chased me all the way back to my brothers car (This happened while I was still recovering from the flu). Luckily my family was already in the car and we all made a quick getaway.
In the middle of miles and miles of empty, and broken down houses there is street of art! All of the house were painted crazy like the one above, and the yards had different things going on in them. The picture above looked to be a vacuum graveyard. The street was a little spooky, but also a nice breath of fresh air.

Favorite thing #1

Oprah has her favorite things, and I have mine!
This week my favorite thing is:
My Kindle!!!
For a good length of time I always claimed that I loved the feel of reading a real book. Then I took a look at a list of the books I wanted to read, and figured financially it would be way cheaper to get a kindle. (Only $79 and books are cheaper!) So I gave in and bought one. About five minutes in to reading my first book on it I fell in love, and I fell hard! I highly recommend. It is so easy that I have been reading more often which is the best plus ever!
